The School

The School of Spiritual Psychology has as its aim helping people to develop the soul capacities of the heart. We live in a highly mental culture that divides and analyzes and separates. A major aspect of the nature of mind is also to divide mind from the vital aspects of being. The result of living in such a binary world is constant strife, competition, stress, opposition, division, and being caught in the repetitive circle of sameness. We, as a culture, are at the end of the time of the binary world. The region of the heart opens to wider worlds, altering mind to universal mind, vitality to depth, and emotion to love. The School of Spiritual Psychology develops the capacities of the heart that transform not only our way of being in the world, but are a transformative element of the world itself. The evolution of consciousness is transiting from the mental to universal heart knowledge. The programs of the School bring harmony to this transition, preparing for the future world we are entering.

The School of Spiritual Psychology began in 1992, and offers programs in the initiation of the heart and soul, the initiation into the spiritualizing of body, and initiation into spiritual consciousness. The School is not academic in nature, though the work is thoughtful and requires the development of inner discipline.

The School of Spiritual Psychology also publishes an online journal, Sophia, focusing on building a community of individuals concerned with imagining the future of the world as felt through the knowledge and wisdom of the heart. Click HERE to visit the Sophia Journal website.

THE DIRECTORS:

Robert Sardello, Ph.D. is co-founder of The School of Spiritual Psychology, which began in 1992. He is author of Facing the World with Soul, Love and the Soul , Freeing the Soul from Fear, The Power of Soul: Living the Twelve Virtues, Silence, and Steps on the Stone Path: Working with Crystals and Minerals as Spiritual Practice. He is editor of Goldenstone Press. He is also co-founder and faculty member of The Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture, author of over 200 articles in scholarly journals and cultural publications, and was on the faculty of The Chalice of Repose Project in Missoula, Mt. Having developed spiritual psychology from over 35 years of research in this discipline, as well as holding positions in two renowned Universities, he is now an independent teacher and scholar teaching all over the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., as well as in The Czech Republic, the Philippines and Australia.

Cheryl L. Sanders, Ph.D. is co-founder of The School of Spiritual Psychology and specializes in the spiritual psychology of the senses, and is currently completing a book in this area with an emphasis in healing of the senses. Her work ranges from the necessity for keeping the senses healthy in children to the development of the spiritual senses in maturity. She also does extensive research, writing, and consulting on the psychological and spiritual importance of developing capacities to remain in inner connection with those who have died. She is administrative director of the School of Spiritual Psychology. She is a former addictions counselor and has worked extensively with women and children as well as adolescence in addictions, education and healing. She teaches with The School all over the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., and has also taught in Holland, Australia and the Philippines. She has published articles and introductions on the senses in books, journals and magazines, as well as monographs of presentations made at the Sophia Conferences given by The School between 1995 and 2000.
